The Melinated Mommy Talks Podcast was born from the monthly Melinated MommyTalks virtual
group facilitated by Jaye Wilson, founding president and CEO of Melinated Moms. The virtual group
is a maternal health support group where candid conversations explore all of the many intersections
of Motherhood, Womanhood, and Sisterhood simultaneously in a world where many women are only allowed to uplift one of these categories at a time, and often with many limitations.
Sit down with Jaye and her variety of guests she’ll have on each episode, as they chat, laugh, cry, and bond over important topics that impact Black mothers, Black women, parents, and the birthing community. The discussions will cover everything from relationships, to finances, to connecting with your children, to the health disparities impacting melinated mothers and melinated families.

Black moms are actual magicians. Black moms will make a way out of no way, able to see the next step before even knowing there is a next step. But our children don’t navigate the same obstacles we faced in our youth. So how do we create a balance of humility and privilege without arrogance? Through compassionate advocacy, nurturing mentorship, and resilient mothering, Jatesha “Jaye'' Wilson is reshaping the world of maternal health for women of color. She is a nurse, CEO, founder, social impact speaker, maternal health advocate, self-sufficiency coach, and mother to two brilliant young girls. Drawing from her own experiences with adversity, motherhood and overcoming, Jaye’s work and resiliency has inspired the lives of women across the globe and is changing how we think of parenting.
Before diving into the development of the Melinated MommyTalks Podcast Jaye previously worked on developing and co-hosting iHeartRadio’s MEternal podcast. She has also made guest appearances on numerous other podcasts’ and talk shows’ special episodes focused on black maternal health. By self-producing and developing the Melinated MommyTalks Podcast Jaye hopes to change the narrative of mothers in media.
